Job Description

Handary is a Shelf-life Specialist, we seek 1 Manager of Food Shelf-life Laboratory, who is responsible for managing and overseeing all laboratory activities related to food shelf-life testing, stability studies, and quality analysis. This role ensures accurate, timely, and reliable results, supports product development, and guarantees compliance with regulatory standards. 

Tasks & Responsabilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the food shelf-life laboratory, including workflow planning and staff supervision.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor shelf-life testing protocols for various food products.
  • Conduct microbiological, chemical, and physical tests to evaluate product stability and safety.
  • Ensure laboratory compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, HACCP, GMP).
  • Analyze data, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for product improvement.
  • Coordinate with R&D, production, and quality teams to support new product development and shelf-life optimization.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, order consumables, and manage resources efficiently.
  • Train and mentor laboratory staff in testing procedures, safety practices, and data management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new testing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in food testing, shelf-life studies, or laboratory management.
  • Strong knowledge of microbiological, chemical, and physical testing methods.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret laboratory data accurately.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is an advantage.
