Handary is a specialist in shelf life solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Protein Purification Engineer to join our dynamic research and development team. The Protein Purification Engineer will play a pivotal role in the isolation, purification, and characterization of proteins for various research and product development projects. The successful candidate will have expertise in protein purification techniques and a strong understanding of biochemistry.

Tasks & Responsabilities:

• Execute protein purification processes using various techniques such as chromatography, filtration, and centrifugation;
• Develop and optimize protein purification protocols to achieve high yields and purity levels;
• Analyze and characterize purified proteins using analytical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and UPLC;
• Maintain and operate state-of-the-art purification equipment and ensure their proper calibration and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during the purification process;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including molecular biologists, biochemists, and analytical chemists, to support research and development projects;
• Document all experiments, results, and procedures accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems;
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and best laboratory practices;
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in protein purification techniques and technologies;
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project planning and strategy discussions.

Requirements

• Education required: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.

• Experience Required: Proven experience in protein purification, with a strong background in chromatography techniques (e.g., affinity, ion-exchange, size exclusion).

• Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with protein analysis and characterization methods;
  • Proficiency in operating purification equipment and software;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent record-keeping and documentation abilities;
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative research environment;
  • Adherence to safety protocols and laboratory best practices;Knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
